2014 Honda CR-V EX-L AWDThe 2014 Honda Accord and Honda CR-V both received Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards recently, with IHS Automotive honoring the former in the “Non-Luxury Traditional Mid-Size Car” category and the latter recognized in the “Non-Luxury Compact CUV” class. The annual awards go to vehicles that satisfy their owners so completely that those drivers return to the same make or brand for their next purchase. This year’s performance was particularly sweet, too, since Honda earned its trophies in two of the industry’s most popular vehicle segments.

For the 2014 Honda Accord, it was yet further confirmation of the success of the brand-new Accord family that offers so many alternatives to today’s drivers. The Accord comes in both coupe and sedan configurations, with traditional, hybrid and plug-in hybrid powertrains, and its premium approach to the category also made it the best-selling car in the country in 2013 (on a retail-only basis).

Looking at the 2014 Honda CR-V, it was the best-selling crossover of any kind last year, while also joining the Accord and Honda Civic among just five cars to deliver more than 300,000 units during the previous selling season. Unsurprisingly, the CR-V also won its class in the 2013 Polk Automotive Loyalty Awards.

“Model loyalty largely depends on long-term customer satisfaction and keeping each vehicle at the top of its class, two things at which Honda excels,” said David Hendley, assistant vice president of sales at American Honda Motor Co., Inc. “Being recognized by IHS Automotive in two of the largest and most competitive vehicle segments illustrates both the quality of our vehicles and the customer satisfaction efforts of Honda dealers across the country.”
